How do I take my dog’s blood pressure?
Kaitlyn McPartlin Asked: How do I take my dog’s blood pressure?
I have a digital blood pressure kit with the cuff that wraps around the upper arm.Can I use the same unit to take my dog's blood pressure by wrapping it around his body?

…would help if you had a doppler.
Why would you want to do this – and if you manage to do this, are you qualified to know what any readings you get actually mean?Never in all my years with my hounds, as any of them had a BP reading done!!
Don't do it. if your wanting to know have a vet do it but its worthless
NO. Blood pressure is measured on the front leg, NOT the entire body.
You need a special cuff, sized for the dog.
It is also diubtful that this CONSUMER (non professional) machine would read correctly on a dog.
If you don't know how to do it then you probably don't need to do it.
Don't use a human tool on an animal EVER without checking with your vet first! Not even a blood pressure taker. More times than not the animal doesn't need it in the first place.
Blood pressure readings in dogs and also in cats are breed specific.Used as a point of reference only 133/75 is the average.
Go to www.google.com and type in "how to take my dogs blood pressure".You will find a site the has a table listing normal blood pressure readings determined by breed as well as pulse readings.
You need a special apparatus to take dogs blood pressure…human ones don't work.
